Robert Langhorn - Office for Design is a New York-based studio specialising in the development of product, furniture and industrial design for a diverse range of clients from design manufacturers, cultural institutions, global brands and consultancies as well as private individuals.

Our design process seeks to balance a rational and pragmatic approach to materials and fabrication with a broader exploration of our understanding and connection to objects and their uses, from both physical and cultural standpoints, with the aim of creating ‘quiet’, yet layered products.

A graduate of the Design Products Department of the Royal College of Art (1999-2001), Robert Langhorn established his studio in Brooklyn, New York in 2003.

Also actively involved in design education, he is an Associate Professor at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, where he teaches in the Industrial Design Department and has also worked as a Design Director for the school’s Center for Sustainable Design Studies (CSDS).
